London Leader Ken Livingstone is to be permitted back into the Work Party, after it was declared that Nicky Gavron is standing down as Labour’s mayoral candidate
Mr Livingstone cleared out the party in 2000 to stand as an autonomous for the post of mayor, which he won
The move would make him a critical figure inside the Work Party, what’s more, he would get the full backing of Tony Blair for re-election as London Leader next year
He connected to rejoin the party in June 2002, in spite of bans as a rule enduring for five years
Mr Livingstone had been a party part for over 30 years
